Results from the 1st 1 hour XC race at Colson Road

There was some great results that happened over the weekend:

All the XC tracks at Mangamahoe have been cleared of the tree pruning/thinning debris left by the NPDC contractors. This has been a monumental effort by Craig and the track crew and those who have put in the time over the past weeks clearing the existing tracks for all now to ride.

27 riders turned up for the one hour race at Colson Road on Sunday morning. The race results are below:

MTB skills clinics and the Race School in New Plymouth Winter/Spring 2010

Club members Andrew Patterson and Jenn O'Connor are running some MTB technique and skills training sessions at Mangamahoe in the coming weeks.

Dates are:

  • Saturday 31st July
  • Sunday 8th August
  • Sunday 15th August

  • This is a great chance for you to improve your off-road riding skills through being with two local riders who have a lot of experience working with XC riders internationally. Sessions limited to 15 participants so be in quick!

More details on their website at the link below:

    MTB Skills Sessions

They have a reduced price for club members which is another incentive for those whose membership has lapsed to join up ASAP. Details on how to do so are on the right of the website in the area labelled "Contact + Membership".

Andy and Jenn are aiming to build up the MTB literacy within the region which they then can follow up on with a Race School academy which they will deliver in the Spring. With this they hope to educate and support the MTB racers within the community to both enjoy XC racing and progress to a high national level and more long term, an international level.

There is a link in their website (here) for you to let them know you are interested in going along.
